Volunteers are an important part of Concord Hospital. Hospital volunteers listen and respond to the needs of patients and visitors,
as well as increase the quality of services we provide. Fundraising volunteers help support special events either through their time
and effort or through soliciting donations on behalf of Concord Hospital. Through their unique contributions, all of our volunteers
support Concord Hospital's commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our community.
Volunteers are rewarded by the satisfaction associated with:
- Helping others
- Forming new friendships
- Acquiring new interests and skills
- Exploring new career opportunities
- Supporting special events
We invite you to become part of a special group of people who volunteer their skills and time to enhance the well-being and
comfort of others, as well as support Concord Hospital.
Who Volunteers at Concord Hospital?
Our volunteers are male and female, young and old, from all economic backgrounds, who wish to assist our staff in
supporting Concord Hospital's charitable mission.
For the newcomer, volunteering provides a way to meet neighbors and get involved with the community. For the older volunteer,
it is an opportunity to keep active, use lifetime skills, and meet interesting people. For anyone wishing to re-enter the
work force or make a career change, it is an opportunity to gain experience through job shadows, career interviews,
internships and volunteer service in clinical areas. The student volunteer starting at age 13, has an opportunity to
explore a variety of healthcare fields, develop people skills, and experience first-hand a healthcare environment.
If You Think You Have Nothing To Offer, Think Again!
You don't need special skills to talk to someone who's lonely, or to answer a phone for busy hospital staff.
And you don't have to be unemployed with time on your hands to help someone else. You can volunteer to do as much or
as little as your schedule allows—days, evenings, or weekends—daily, weekly, or monthly.
You can be involved in anything and everything from supporting fundraising events, sewing, and assisting patients,
to greeting and directing visitors. You decide how much time you want to give and how you want to spend it. We will work to
place you in a role that best suits your skills and interests.
Hospital volunteers, unlike fundraising volunteers, are required to go through an application process prior to volunteering.
The process involves:
- Completing an application and immunization record
- Submitting working papers if you are under 16 years of age
- Interviewing with the volunteer services department
- Completing the volunteer orientation
We are currently accepting volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a hospital volunteer complete our online volunteer application.
