Why Choose Concord Hospital?
Board-certified physicians in medical oncology and hematology are committed to providing quality medical care using the most advanced, medically accepted treatments for cancer and blood diseases.
Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care offers onsite cancer genetic counseling and testing services through a collaboration with New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology, PA
(NHOH) and the Dana-Farber Cancer Instititute (DFCI) Cancer Risk & Prevention Program. The Genetic Counseling Program provides selected high-risk patients genetic counseling and testing
close to home. A DCFI Genetic Counselor is available to provider expert consultation to people at high risk for breast, ovarian and colorectal cancers at the Breast Care Center once a month.
And a physician from NHOH also offers further consultation. All cases are reviewed by the team at the DFCI Cancer Risk & Prevention Program.
The Payson Center for Cancer Care houses two linear accelerators, as well as a dedicated large-bore oncology CT simulator.
The ACQSIM CT simulator, used in radiation treatment planning, captures cross-sectional images of the tumor that are later used to plan the treatment fields and dosage in each field. With the larger 85-centimeter opening or bore, the simulator offers increased clinical accuracy and comfort for patients.
The Clinac 21EX machines have several features that improve the way radiation therapy is delivered including multi-field conformal therapy, where the radiation beam conforms to the size and shape of the target, and intensity modulated radiation therapy that helps to avoid critical structures.
Concord Hospital’s cancer program has received "Approval with Commendation" by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
