The HOPE Resource Center (i.e., Hope Offered and Provided by Employees of CH) offers programs and services to assist patients with all aspects of their cancer care including answering questions; discussing financial, emotional, spiritual and dietary needs; and putting them in touch with appropriate resources and support programs in the cancer center and community.

Complementary Therapies – A complementary care coordinator connects patients to complementary therapies for stress reduction and relaxation. A range of complementary therapies including chair massage, exercise, yoga, hypnotherapy, meditation and Reiki are available through Concord Hospital programs. Acupuncture and other sevices are available to cancer patients through a partnership between the Payson Center for Cancer Care and the Center for Integrative Medicine.

Financial Counseling – Financial counselors meet with patients to discuss their financial situation and help them understand the terms and conditions of their insurance coverage for cancer treatment, as well as help them obtain the necessary authorization and referrals from physicians.

Nutrition Counseling – A registered dietitian is available to discuss patients’ dietary needs, evaluate and monitor nutritional status, and help them deal with side effects of treatment.

Social Services – A dedicated oncology social worker helps patients and their families sort through the cancer experience and connects them to hospital and community resources.

Spiritual Care – Spiritual care counselors help patients and families cope with the impact of a cancer diagnosis.

Support and Education – Support and educational programs are available both at the hospital and in the community.

Transportation - A social worker helps arrange transportation for patients needing help getting to and from treatment.

Cancer Registry – In compliance with state law, Concord Hospital’s cancer registry reports all cancer cases diagnosed and/or treated at Concord Hospital to the New Hampshire State Cancer Registry. As an American College of Surgeons (ACoS)-approved cancer program, the registry transmits anonymous data on site, stage, full treatment information, recurrences and deaths to the ACoS. The data provides important information that can be used to compare the hospital's detection and treatment methods with state, regional and national figures. Additionally, the data provides information on cancer incidence and mortality and allows for better planning of health resource allocation.
